Scholarship Winners 2010 Conference
Pamela Clark, Lawrence, KS - Parents are Vern & Peggy Heinen, Husband, Paul with sons David & Andrew. Pamela is a member of St. Jude Circle #1127 which sponsored her. Pamela gave up college to stay home and get her boys started in life. She has returned to the University of Kansas where she plans to get her BSB in Accounting. Her husband is working two jobs so she can pursue her education. She is active, serving as Custodian for her circle. Assists with her sons catechism of the Good Shepard class, helps with church cleaning and the Knights of Columbus of which her husband is active for their Halloween and Christmas parties for the children.
ReGina Reynolds of Hosington-Parents Helen & Albert Dalle. She was sponsored by Immaculate Conception #744 of Great Bend of which she is a member. She is the 12th of 13 children in her family. She moved to Kansas to be close to her religious role model, her mother. She lost her mother to cancer this past year. She saw the bond her mother had to her religious affiliations and wanted the same for herself. ReGina has helped with the welcome breakfast, and the awakening faith classes. She also wishes to attend bible education classes for women when it is offered. ReGina plans are to attend Emporia State University and to major in Library Information Science.
Leanna Streit, Tipton, Kansas - Parents Gary & Janelle Streit. Leanna was sponsored by St. Rose #205 of Tipton. Her mother and grandmother are members of the Daughters of Isabella. She is from a family of five (5) girls. Working hard, helping people and having faith is all she has known in her life. She is blessed to have been able to attend Tipton Catholic High School where she was encouraged to use her talent to serve others. Her plans are to attend Bethany College and to major in Pre-Med as a registered nurse or Physicians assistant, so that she can help to care for the sick.
Alyssa DeGraffenreid of Wichita. Her partents are Ron & Mary DeGraffenreid and was sponsored by St. Luke Circle #239 of St. Paul, Ks. She is the granddaughter of Loretta Hofer that is a member of that circle. Alyssa is the 5th child of 6 children. She has done many hours of volunteer and stewardship during her time at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. She just completed 25 hours in the fall helping with Habitat for Humanity, Cerebral Palsy Clinic, Salvation Army, Red Cross and the Lake Point Retirement Clinic. She enjoys working with children and wants to be a dental hygienist for children. She is planning on attending Wichita State University.
